    1. Summary

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information as well as to prepare financial reports. Responsibilities include preparation of month-end journal entries and analyses, managing cash accounting, and monitoring capital projects. This career requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field, at least five years of experience in a similar role, and advanced MS Excel skills.

    II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Preparation of month-end journal entries and analyses.
      • Reconciles balance sheet accounts as assigned.
      • Responsible for supervising AP department as needed.
      • Monitors capital projects and updates fixed asset additions and transfers.
      • Manages cash accounting and related functions as needed.
      • Works with Depot Managers to provide accounting guidance and analysis support.
      • Prepares miscellaneous invoices.
      • Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on A/R.

      • Fulfills ad hoc reporting requirements in excel and data mining from available system data.

      • Identifies initiates and implements efficiencies for current processes, as needed.
      • Assists with related special projects as assigned.
      • Assists with AP functions and processes.
      • Communicates with management and escalates issues as needed.
      • Other job duties as assigned.

    III. Required Skills / Abilities

      • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
      • Advanced MS Excel skills.
      • MS Dynamics 365 preferred, but not required.
      • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, and upper management.

      • Excellent communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management.

      • Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
      • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
      • Ability to lead others without direct management responsibility.

    IV. Education & Experience

      • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields is required.
      • CPA license preferred, or working to obtain CPA license.
      • ERP system experience.
      • Experience working with accounting software.
      • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

    V. Other Job Demands

    Work is generally performed in a traditional office environment at our Camden, New Jersey location. Working hours may vary and evening or weekend work may be required. You will be required to sit for long periods of time. You may be required to lift and carry light weights.
