    Job Summary of the Lead Echo Technologist
    The Cardiology Echo Lead Sonographer under the direction of the manager of Cardiac Services is responsible working closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of adult/pediatric echocardiography and adult stress tests. The Lead Sonographer adheres to the customer service standards while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment. Actively supports process improvement within the Non-Invasive Cardiology Dept.
    Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
    Responsibilities of the Lead Echo Technologist
    • The Lead Echo Tech is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, diagnostic tests which include Adult and Pediatric Echocardiogram, TEEs and Pharmacologic/Exercise Cardiac Stress Testing.
    • This position will promote optimal unit operations and demonstrate ability to precept new employees and employees not meeting expectations
    • Maintains professional standards and seeks professional growth.
    • Provides care to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatrics.
    • Employees conduct must reflect the companys values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct.
    • Employee reflects SDH Service Excellence standards in every interaction.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications of the Lead Echo Technologist

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Associate degree with completion of an accredited cardiac sonography program
    • Minimum of 3 years Echo experience
    • Preferred: Pediatric Echo experience

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

    • RDCS through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or RCS through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Preferred: CMRT, CVT, Certified Radiologic Technologist, ARRT or working toward registry eligibility
