    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Clinical Nurse Coordinator of Surgical Services manages healthcare team members, and will possess excellent communication skills to effectively counsel, support, and lead others through change and crisis situations. We work hard to support the patients and families in our community while supporting each other in our efforts to provide excellent care. We are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this Coordinator role:

    • You will have the clinical competence to serve as resource to the staff and be self-directed with the ability to lead others.
    • You will support the staff and work as a change agent, supporting system wide nursing initiatives.
    • You will collaborate with preceptors and new employees, and facilitate new employees in becoming part of the team.
    • You will assess the need for and assist in the creation and implementation of staff development programs to enhance professional growth of personnel.
    • You will facilitate ongoing performance improvement activities which correlate to the Hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program with involvement of all levels of staff on designated shifts as appropriate.
    • You will make assignments for the present or following shift to provide for smooth transition, ensuring appropriate assignments throughout shift to cover changing patient needs and staff availability due to absences, breaks, etc.

      What qualifications you will need:
      • Current Utah nursing license or compact state RN license in good standing
      • Requires a minimum of two (2) years RN experience in related specialty, 3 years preferred. Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.
      • BSN Required
      • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.
      • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hire. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification within 7 days of hire.
