    Location Description:

    Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.

    Primary Responsibilities: In this position, the ideal candidate will be able to successfully operate and maintain the water treatment plant under the supervision of the operator in charge and is responsible for complying with the state of Nebraskas rules and regulations governing a grade 3 water treatment facility.

    Secondary Responsibilities: As a Water Treatment Operator, you will also be tasked with keeping surrounding MFI buildings repaired and maintained. Some examples of collateral duties include performing concrete, painting, carpentry, floor coatings, block work and pipe insulating.

    What makes you a good fit for the role:

    • Has a history of operating and maintaining water treatment equipment, conducting daily water plant operations, recording maintenance activities, and ensuring the cleanliness of equipment.

    • Demonstrates adaptability in various construction tasks, including block work, concrete work, tile, carpentry, painting, and pipe insulation.

    • Possesses strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of construction equipment.

    • Experience with facility maintenance, including rebuilding and repairing walls, floors, ceilings, doors, etc.

    • Familiar with and upholds safety standards, follows GMPs, maintains sanitary conditions, and reports any concerns affecting food safety, quality, or personnel safety to management.

    Qualifications:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
    • Minimum a Nebr. grade 4 water certification with the ability to obtain a grade 3

    • General Laborer / Carpenter experience

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to safely lift 100 lbs. occasionally.
    • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
    • Ability to work in high areas off the ground.
