Laboratory Technician
Our client in the Energy industry is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team.
Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Florida 33534 United States
Pay Range: $20-22/hr
W2 contract x 3 months with potential to extend

Description:
The Lab Technician will utilize knowledge in metallography, calibration, chemistry, and materials testing to support the testing and certification needs. Products primarily include Nickel superalloy castings and remelt stock.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support daily activities including lab samples, material inspection and release, and alloy master heat certifications and releases.
Follow written procedures and specifications to support our objectives and assure first-class customer response and departmental efficiency
Conducts microscopic studies of metals and other materials to determine their physical characteristics such as crystal structure, alloy particles, impurities, fractures, and other defects.
Perform regular calibration and maintenance of measurement and testing equipment.
Follow documented procedures to calibrate, adjust, and repair physical, mechanical, and dimensional measuring, and test equipment.
Assist in developing and validating new measurement methods, and calibration procedures.
Perform various other tests/tasks; XRF PMI, review of heat treat and hot isostatic pressing data.
Coordinate the creation, processing, and testing of alloy master heat test materials.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
2-3 Years experience in metallographic/materials testing laboratory
Structured and analytical approach to tasks and problem solving with adequate detail orientation
Outgoing personality who enjoys teamwork and knowledge sharing
Must be organized with the ability to focus on priority projects and tasks
Sales-focused demonstration and technical presentation skills
Written and oral communication skills required
PC/Computer Skills; Proficiency in MS Office, primarily Word and Excel

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to moderate.
