ResponsibilitiesSpring Valley Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in southwest Las Vegas, the 364-bed hospital offers emergency care, advanced cardiovascular and neurological surgeries and procedures, surgical services, womens health, comprehensive maternity services, a level III neonatal intensive care unit, and specialty programs in stroke, chest pain, advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine with a limb salvage program

Job Description:
Responsible for performing technical responsibilities relative to assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with the instrumentation of Open Heart surgery, as well as assisting in the preparation and management of tubings utilized by the heart-lung (pump) machine.
QualificationsEducationHigh School Graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of a surgical technologist program
that is accredited by a national accrediting organization or a successor organization or must
have successfully completed a training program for surgical technologist administered by the
US Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard.
ExperienceMinimum of two (2) years scrubbing experience in a major operating room, and at least one (1) year of experience as an Open Heart Scrub Technician.
License/CertificationCurrent Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Current BLS Certification.
OtherMust be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service
appropriate to the age of the patient.
Note Employees hired into this position prior to 1/1/2018 are exempt from certification requirement.
