Position Overview
The Ou t si de Sales Representative generates and secures new sales to increase the pro f itability o f the company. This position maintains existing acc ou nts while generating new business thr ou gh cold calls and f ollowing leads.
Pay Rate: $40,000.00 plus commission
Essential Job Duties- Promote, sell, and secure new acc ou nts f or the company.
- Provide existing acc ou nts with necessary products, time, and in f ormation.
- Assist with the selection o f products best suited to customer needs.
- Prepare, coordinate, and communicate price quotations, terms o f sales, delivery dates, and service obligations to customers/contractors.
- Resolve customer complaints and problems.
- Assist in the collection o f acc ou nts receivable.
- Coordinate project schedules, contractor schedules, and material deliveries.
- Prepare and input orders as necessary.
- In f orms company o f competitive prices, products, and area-related in f ormation.
- Maintain current knowledge o f daily and monthly sales and their relationship to budget and margin goals.
- Research and order special products as necessary.
- Estimate materials f rom blueprints supplied by customer/contractor.
- Adhere to Con f lict o f Interest or Non-Compete agreement i f in place.
- Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Per f orm other duties as assigned by location management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Minimum education required-High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum experience required-3 years o f sales experience in building materials or related industry.
- Special skills required-Working knowledge o f building materials industry and products, ability to negotiate prices and contractual agreements.
- Special knowledge required- estimating f rom blueprints, ability to use calculator and computer.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Physical demands include the ability to drive up to 50% o f the time, li f t up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and 50 lbs. on a random basis, and/or work in extreme weather conditions. Sitting, stooping, bending, standing, or walking f or extended periods o f time.
