As a Registered Nurse on our Trauma Step Down Unit you can be a part of change.

    We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Trauma Stepdown Unit. This unit is a24 bed fast-paced surgical trauma stepdown unit, which is a direct stepdown unit for STICU and other critical care units. Delivering specialized nursing care to a variety of patients, including (but not limited to): multiple trauma, neurosurgery, and general surgical patients. This is a great opportunity to expand your nursing skills and work with a great team. The shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating weekends.

    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Surgical Trauma Stepdown Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.


    What you will do in this role:

    • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
    • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
    • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
    • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
    • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.


    What qualifications you will need:

    Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required

    Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license

    A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required

    A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date

    Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience preferred
