    Striker/Stocker

    Based in Michigan, Zeeland Lumber & Supply operates truss and wall panel component manufacturing plants along with full-service building material yards that distribute lumber and an expansive range of specialty products, such as windows, doors, roofing, cabinets, decking, and interior and exterior trim.

    Pay Rate: $20.00/hr.

    Position Overview

    The St riker / St ocker has the opportunity to learn the building materials business and our branch operation by supporting drivers with deliveries, working in the warehouse, and receiving, loading and unloading material in the yard and delivery site.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Adhere to e st ablished safety rules and regulations and follow all safety procedures; maintain a safe and clean environment.
    • Pull, st age, and load orders onto outgoing trucks and at cu st omer site as directed.
    • Aid Driver in inspecting materials scheduled for delivery to confirm that the shipment is correct and that it is properly loaded and secured.
    • Ride with the driver to the job site to unload product at jobsite.
    • Assi st driver in evaluating delivery site, noting potential hazards, ob st acles, physical challenges, etc.; guide driver in maneuvering onto and off cu st omer's property to avoid damage as needed.
    • Handle materials off conveyor and st ack material as directed.
    • Support driver in maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
    • Assi st warehouse associates and direct supervisor in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.


    • Receive in-coming products, commodities and materials; st ock all material received in appropriate bins or st orage locations.
    • Operate forklift with foot and hand controls in a safe manner to complete orders onto delivery equipment.
    • Treat cu st omers, contractors, and associates in a courteous, considerate, and cooperative manner.
    • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
    • Participates in a positive work environment
    • Provides Excellent Cu st omer Service
    • Participates in and completes assigned trainings.
    • Complies with all company policies and guidelines (replaces attendance st atement)
    • Other duties as assigned by Management


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Minimum education preferred- High School or GED preferred.
    • Minimum experience preferred - 1 to 2 years as st riker / roof loader or st ocker; 1 year warehouse experience. Forklift operation and license is preferred.
    • Other - Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fa st pace, ever changing environment.
    • Ability to work in heights ranging from ground level to elevation
    • Physical demands include st anding, walking or sitting for extended periods of time, bending or st ooping, lifting up to 100 pounds consi st ently and working in adverse weather conditions.
    • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
    • Ability to do basic math, read orders, write in st ructions and complete forms.
    • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with cu st omers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
    • Ability to deal con st ructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.


    • Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).
