    PCB Solder Technician

    Manpower Engineering is looking for Electronics/ PCB Solder Technicians for our Munster Indiana client. 12-month contract to hire position. M-F, day shift requiring about 10 hours OT/week. Some partial Saturdays. $24-$27/hour.

    What you will be doing:

    • Will evaluate and repair electronic control devices using surface mount (SMT) equipment, such as Pace rework systems.
    • Will do a pre-test on the returned device, desolder/remove faulty component from printed circuit board, solder replacement component to board, then retest. Components involved could be programmable ICs, resistors, capacitors, diodes, etc.
    • In addition to SMT work, will also be some through-hole soldering
    • Employees are challenged daily, by problem solving, in the analysis and repair of a device.
    Who we are seeking
    • 2-year degree in Electronics Technology (ASEET) with 1-3years of surface mount soldering work or no degree with 5+ years of related work experience.
    • Looking for strong surface mount soldering skills of electronic components on various types of circuit boards and electronic assemblies including double or multi-layer electronic circuit boards. Proficient in the use of desolder tools, talon and/or hot air for component removal.
    • Will also be doing some through-hole-soldering
    • Electronic Component diagnostics on components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, simple integrated circuits devices such as voltage regulators and optical isolators.
    • Looking for tight pitch experience

    • Candidates who enjoy tinkering, hands-on hobbies (auto repair, etc.) are a good fit
    • Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
    • Must be willing/able to work about 10 hours OT/week. Some partial Saturdays.
    • Not required but any experience with Digital Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Frequency Generator and/or a Huntron tracker to perform diagnostics, will be a plus.
