    RIMARY PURPOSE

    The primary purpose of this position is to screen staff, patients, vendors, and visitors at all screening stations to ensure each person entering is screened prior to entering a Parkland Health facility and wears a mask upon entry per the current guideline. This position is also responsible for taking temperatures, asking screening questions, providing visitors with a screening wrist band or stickers, and ensures the screening stations are fully stocked with PPE and hand sanitizers. Additionally, the Guest Ambassador PRN will protectively interact with guests which includes patients, employees, visitors, and vendors to provide information and assistance on all things related the Parkland campus to promote a positive guest experience at Parkland Health. This position also supports proactive safety initiatives.

    MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

    Education

    None.

    Experience

    One (1) year of experience in a healthcare or customer service environment preferred.

    Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

    Certification/Registration/Licensure

    Must have a current Heart saver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:

    American Heart Association

    American Red Cross

    Military Training

    Skills or Special Abilities

    Requires good verbal communications, reading, and writing skills.

    Must have very strong interpersonal skills, friendly personality, and the ability to represent Parkland in a positive manner while being effective in screening.

    Acute sense of good judgment and ability to problem solve with tact and diplomacy.

    Responsibilities

    1. Greets and screens all staff, visitors, and vendors prior to allowing entry per guidelines as established by leadership.

    2. Provides masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all persons entering are wearing masks per the established procedure.

    3. Maintain ample screening supplies, PPEs, masks, and hand sanitizers at the entrances and place order for additional supplies as needed.

    4. Disinfects high touch point and maintains a clean and welcoming environment at the assigned station and the front entrance, including front lobby areas.

    5. Maintains a positive working relationship with staff in all areas of the hospital in order to facilitate effective communication among all.

    6. Coordinate with supervisors to report non-compliance and escalate issues in a timely manner through the proper channels.

    7. Assist guests with wayfinding needs which may include providing guests (patients, visitors, or employees) with walking directions to different buildings on campus, escorting or transporting patients to outpatient clinics to ensure patients reaches desired destination.

    8. Stays abreast of latest developments in entrance screening protocols by reading emails sent by the management team and attending trainings/meetings.

    9. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impacts the Guest Experience Department and entrance screening.

    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.

    3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
