    Position Summary:
    We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Logistics Manager.

    In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for managing the systems, procedures and means of procurement to supply the two or more specialty areas nursing units with standard items, services and equipment. Analyzes utilization needs and practices; develops and implements cost containment and cost reduction programs.

    Job Responsibilities:

      • Continuity of Service: Maintains open lines of communication with Department Heads and Supervisors of support departments to provide continuity of services to the unit/service.Participates in scheduled meetings and/or committee work. Reviews work priorities and regularly participates in unit planning discussions with Nurse Managers and Directors of Nursing (Clinical Services). Assists in the daily coordination of workflow between nursing units and support services. Communicates verbally, electronically, and/or in writing as appropriate to the issue and to time parameters required.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
      • Adheres to department guidelines concerning sick time, vacation, personal days, and other paid/unpaid leaves. Arrives on time for work and meetings. Provides proper notification of absences or tardiness. Does not abuse sick time.
      • Work is thought out and planned in advance; is able to successfully implement plan.Determines priorities, adheres to these priorities with minimal changes. Coordinates ownwork to achieve efficiency and quality service. Completes all details associated with a task; follows up to ensure that ongoing projects are current, policies are being followed and ideas are brought to operational completion.
      • Makes suggestion for positive changes. Demonstrates independent thinking. Readily accepts new responsibilities and assignments. Recognizes when help is needed by others and offers guidance and assistance. Identifies and actively pursues a planned program of professional growth through continuing education, professional journals, etc.
      • Judgment/Decision-Making: Makes good judgments which are based on gathering and analyzing factual and objective data; is able to interpret policies/procedures in order to make a sound independent decision. Demonstrates alertness and adaptability to changing employee conditions; responds appropriately. Makes decisions in a timely manner. Seeks the opinion of others, when appropriate, before making a decision
      • Leadership: Demonstrates accountability for daily operations of service functioning in support of Patient care and patient safety. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient,physician, and Medical Center information. Cooperates and communicates effectively and harmoniously with supervisors, subordinates, peers, patients and their families, staff physicians, other Medical Center personnel, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Communications are well thought out, effective, and informative. Is attentive to others in order to respond appropriately, answer questions, or obtain needed information.
      • Documentation/Reports: Ensures that appropriate supporting documentation of activities are completed. Prepares reports as assigned. Prepares accurate and thorough reports for areas of responsibility as requested. Composes reports in a clear, concise and thorough manner. Assures that appropriate resources are used to obtain accurate information and utilizes computer formats where appropriate. Submits requested documentation in a timely manner. Performs annual evaluations of assigned Supply Aides and Equipment Attendants.
      • Equipment: Coordinates house-wide inventory of equipment as well as maintaining records on the maintenance of history of all capital acquisitions. Evaluates equipment in terms of frequency of use, durability and corrective maintenance. Proposes changes in equipment that will add to the efficiency of the service provided with minimal cost increases. Receives new equipment and prepares any written guidelines necessary for its utilization. Facilitates inservice scheduling in collaboration with Nursing Education and the manufacturer where needed for new or existing technology. Arranges for the repair and/or replacement of equipment as indicated. Monitors cost of maintenance and repair,makes recommendations on this basis. Collaborates with Clinical Engineering regarding routine maintenance. Follows recall notices and facilitates removal of items subject to recall.
      • Supplies: Collaborates with Materials Management to maintain an effective system of supply procurement and stocking that is cost effective as well as efficient to the assigned nursing unit(s). Develops, monitors and maintains par level standards for items needed from General Stores (Exchange Cart), Central Distribution (floor stock and patient charge supplies), Pharmacy (floor stock supplies) as well as Linen Service items (linen) etc.Evaluates utilization of supplies and revises pars as needed to meet the need of a nursing unit based on census change or unit/patient reclassification. Anticipates predictable supply or equipment problems and makes contingency plans as necessary (e.g. strike,natural disaster, back-orders, unit relocations etc.). Utilizes the Supply Aides assigned to the service/unit in a manner which facilitates the timely delivery of supplies and pharmaceuticals with a maximum of efficiency.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in business management or a related field.
    • Five to eight years related experience or experience in hospital or health care facility.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required..

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree and management related experience or equivalent work experience in field of facilities management is required.
    • Five (5) years facilities experience and strong knowledge of building codes desired.

    NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63,935.04 - $106,557.88 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
