Position Overview

The Ins i de Sa l e s R e p resentative assists with new and existing customer sales and provides prod uct support to outside sales representatives. This position provides quotes and prod uct dimension information, both in person and over the phone.

Essential Job Duties

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding prod uct selection, placement of orders, prices and quotations, complaints, and sc h e du ling of deliveries and ins tallations.
• Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales.
• Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives; enter work order, credit return, return authorization, pick ticket, and service requ est ; file paperwork accordingly.
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of special prod ucts. Obta ins information on pricing specifications, uses and availability.
• Manage sc h e du le s for project by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers.
• Check on back orders and resolve any outstanding issues; solve billing problems and compile data for closing.
• Handles special orders and advanced pricing; assist with pricing and special price lists.
• Develop and grow professional relationships with customers.
• Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems.
• Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by loca tion m anage ment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum education required - High Sc h ool Diploma or GED.
• Minimum experience required - 1 year in building material industry with basic knowledge of prod uct and application. 1+ years Ins i de Sa l e s experience preferred.
• Special skills required - Ability to oper ate computer, calculator & cash register. Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or con st r u ct i o n industry. Good interpersonal and customer relations skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be familiar with invent ory and invent ory co n tro l .
• Must be able to walk throughout yards, plants, and offices.
• Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending or stooping, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
