Description

Leidos is seeking a Buyer located in our Huntsville, AL facility. The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of various components, materials, and services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute purchase order awards on behalf of Leidos
• Purchase order administration/file maintenance in accordance with any applicable FAR/DFAR requirements
• Conducting price and cost analysis, which requires clear communication abilities
• Negotiating price/cost, price/cost-related terms, and other purchase order/subcontract provisions
• Procurement of awards with varying levels of complexity and risk
• Completes larger procurements with some manager oversight
• Support internal customer goals and manage expectations surrounding procurement activities

Basic Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelors degree coupled with 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience, OR high school diploma, coupled with equivalent experience
• Prior experience buying tangible goods is required
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Strong Customer Service mentality
• Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications.

• FAR/DFARS experience preferred
• Costpoint experience preferred
• Terms and Conditions negotiation experience preferred
