Graphics Shop Expert
Description
The Mission Operations Division at Leidos is seeking a Graphics Shop Expert to support a government contract in the National Capital Region (NCR). The candidate will be responsible for directly and indirectly providing support to graphics design and fabrication, adhesives bonding, specialty fabrication and finishing, and printing across multiple materials. The candidate must have experience with graphics shop equipment and best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and develop customized graphics engineering solutions for unique, complex customer requirements
- Create, reproduce, or modify product design and fabrication, manage associated design and fabrication files, and maintain stock management
- Help manage project objectives and schedules for graphics design, engineering, and production
- Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud software to create, reproduce, or modify artwork for a variety of quick reaction requirements
- Utilize hand skills to install graphics-related items on a variety of substrates/materials to include, but not limited to, plastics, metals, wood, glass, vinyl, and fabrics
- Document products and services using photography equipment
- Operate graphics shop tools: work with cameras and lighting equipment, cutting tools (manual and automated), solvents, adhesives and inks, laminators, lasers, scanners, printers: inkjet, UV-cure, solvent, pad, card, and label
- Perform general graphics shop maintenance and organization
- Maintain graphics inventory stock management system
- Remain current on industry best practices and advances in technology
- Work with team to maintain a safe operating environment in the shop and work closely with the safety officer to adhere to OSHA and EPA regulations
- Receive and dispose of HAZMAT and HAZWASTE according to EPA regulations
- Communicate and interface with internal and external procurement vendors for material acquisition
- CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required 5% of the time
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with a polygraph
- Bachelors degree in graphic design or equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience. Work experience can be used in lieu of degree
- Experience designing graphics for print production
- Demonstrated experience solving complex problems with technical graphic design and manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience using general graphics shop equipment including DSLR cameras and large format printers
- Experience with general mechanical hand skills including those necessary to make minor repairs to graphics shop equipment
- Demonstrated ability to reproduce or modify artwork using the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite including Adobe Illustrator
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior employees in the design and troubleshooting of graphic design and production
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changing requirements
- Demonstrated experience working independently, as well as part of a team, including strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong desire to learn new skills and willingness to seek and accept feedback as part of a diverse team
Desired Skills
- At least 1 year of experience working with the customer
- Demonstrated ability to install graphics on plastics, metals, woods, glass, vinyl and fabrics
- Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair graphics shop equipment and tools
Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
