    Rotating Equipment Engineer

    Rotating Equipment Engineer - $15k sign on bonus


    Job Overview:
    Seeking a Rotating Equipment - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our East Chicago, IN location. This position, which includes regional support responsibilities, will report to the Region Reliability Center Manager. The engineer will collaborate with our Regional Reliability team and other personnel to achieve tactical reliability goals.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the primary technical resource for maintenance & troubleshooting of rotating equipment, fixed equipment, and auxiliary systems.
    • Own and administer predictive maintenance programs, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
    • Lead or assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
    • Identify and resolve chronic mechanical asset concerns.
    • Develop and execute small-scale projects for reliability improvement.
    • Facilitate major mechanical equipment spare parts purchase.
    • Plan long-term resolutions for mechanical asset concerns.
    • Assess equipment performance data and lead activities for optimal reliability.
    • Assist in cost estimation and turnaround planning and execution.
    • Employ Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement.
    • Lead resolution of critical issues with urgency and integrity.
    • Support the Management of Change (MOC) process and provide technical reviews.
    • Develop data for site Reliability Reports and identify cost improvement and energy-saving projects.
    • Monitor production losses and maintenance costs to address high-priority reliability issues.

    Job Requirements:

    • A combination of office and field work, with 10%-20% domestic travel.
    • Availability during off-hours when necessary.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5+ years in rotating equipment/mechanical maintenance/reliability engineering in an industrial setting, or 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
    • Level II certification in vibration analysis.
    • Experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
    • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
    • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and similar methodologies.
    • Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
    • Proficiency in standard software packages (MS Office, Email, etc.).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Familiarity with regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
    • Understanding of precision maintenance standards.
    • Experience with balancing of rotating equipment.
    • Familiarity with CMMS systems, such as Infor EAM.
    • Knowledge of engineering documentation software.
    • Understanding of various reliability methodologies and strategies.
