    LSF is looking for a talented Case Aide who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

    The schedule for this role is 8:30am - 5:00pm and requires candidate to be fluent in Spanish and/or Creole.

    Purpose & Impact:

    The Case Aide is responsible for assisting in the day-to-daytasks to ensure that case management services are provided to the refugees in a timely manner. The Case Aide is required to maintain a flexible, organized, and efficient work schedule and is subject to work extended hours and weekends.

    Essential Functions:

    • Ensure that all guidelines, as specified by PRM and LIRS are followed and practiced.
    • Provide orientation, monitoring and referrals to refugee clients and/or with anchors/co-sponsors related to services and resettlement programs (DCF, SSA, Health Dept, Child Care, ESL, etc.)
    • Ensures completion of initial assessment in order to develop a service plan. Updates plan regularly to document changes.
    • Develop and review resettlement plan and establish goals with each Resettlement Program staff to assure compliance with contract requirements and in conjunction with client.
    • Available for daily support to the Resettlement Specialists for case staffing needs, management of client funds, emergency assistance, and problem-solving or clarification with clients either in the office or through home visits.
    • Working cooperatively with the R&P staff, supervise case management activity (including tracking home visits, airport pick up, and service delivery) through facilitation of regularly scheduled team meetings for case staffing and updates of family resettlement/employment, budget, and housing plans.
    • Meet with sponsors and US Tie relatives as necessary.
    • Review case files at least once a month to show progress and implementation of the resettlement employment plan.
    • Responsible for writing comprehensive case notes in a timely manner in the IRIS system.
    • Determines program eligibility potential of refugee clients for MG, Employment, etc.
    • Assist all eligible clients in filling the required forms for AOR - P3, CAM, SIV walk ins and Lautenberg Programs
    • Ensures that copies of documents are in client case file.
    • Coordinate sponsorships between refugees clients and sponsors.
    • Responsible for the preparation and submission of 90 days reports and other reports required on a monthly basis to determine accuracy.
    • Setting and following up with Home Visits according to contractual requirements.
    • Might complete Check Requests, distributes checks and secures signatures and necessary documentation for the case file.
    • Participate in LIRS trainings on cultural competence, service provision, policies and procedures.
    • Represent and promotes the refugee program at meetings and speaking engagements.

    Other Functions:

    • May enter all financial transactions of the clients funds into the IRIS system as well as accounting per procedures in a timely manner.
    • May create and document check request vouchers for all R&P clients per scheduled if necessary.
    • Must possess a clean/valid Florida Driver License, reliable transportation and proof of insurance (transcript of driving record will be requested from the Department of Motor Vehicle at the time of hire).
    • Completes inventory control data entry form from DPVs, enters information in the database, and tags all the equipment and furniture regularly.
    • Provides indirect supervision of Resettlement Program staff.
    • Assists manager with RFP and another project.
    • Assists Manager in enforcement and attaining program goals.
    • Provides training to program staff if necessary.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must possess a clean/valid Florida Driver License, reliable transportation, and proof of Insurance (transcript of driving record will be requested from the Department of Motor Vehicle at the time of hire).
    • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time, utilizes telephone, computer, and other office equipment.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be able to work flexible and long hours.

    Education:

    High School Diploma or GED, or other relevant degree or equivalent experience.

    Experience:

    • Experience working with clients; comfortable working closely with diverse client base.
    • 3-year experience preferred working with refugees.
    • Cross-cultural or international experience preferred.

    Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to community services.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Critical assessment and analysis skills.
    • Ability to work and deal a diverse group of clients.
    • Must be able to keep confidential information.

    Other:

    Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    • Reports to Manager
    • Must be a team player with monitors as well as other clerical staff.
    • Accurate, complete and timely submission of required reports and documentation to LIRS & LSF.
    • Effective working relationship with clients (providers).
    • Adherence to LSF policies and procedures.
