Responsibilities- Under the supervision of the OR Scheduling Coordinator and/or Dir. of Physician Affairs, screen interview, counsel and provide direct patient care.
- Document all clinical observations, findings and services provided in the patients electronic medical record (EMR).
- Report all abnormal observations and findings to the appropriate medical provider in a timely manner verbally or via Skype.
- Relay pathology results to patients
- Recall process for Endoscopy procedures
- Schedule Endoscopy procedures
- Data entry
- Track pathology results
- Responsible for retrieving appropriate laboratory,diagnostic and radiology reports as requested.
- Assist in transporting paperwork, and other materials between sites when appropriate.
- Review Rx, Results and Office voice mail folders daily and the, Scheduling/ physician pools, daily for tasks, follow-ups as assigned.
- Responsible for monitoring pathology results
- Perform Medical Assistant duties in accordance with thecurrent Joint Commissions National Patient Safety Goals.
- Perform Medical Assistant duties when assigned to otherclinical areas.
- Communicate with clinical, clerical, and managerialstaff to provide continuity of patient care.
- Attend health center and network meetings, as requiredand assigned.
- Report any unusual occurrences or problems in a timelymanner to Unit Coordinator.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
QualificationsJob Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in ambulatory setting (emergency room, clinic or health center)
- Working experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Associates, High School Diploma, or GED equivalent
- Bilingual English/Spanish or other language
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant/Medical Technologist school/program and holds a valid Certificate of Completion
