    Industrial Engineering Leader

    Job Description Summary

    The Industrial Engineering Leader is part of the Supply Chain Lean Operations Group and is supporting the DCC (Dayton Casting and Cores) operations. This person is tasked with the industrialization management of the current production processes at DCC.

    Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC) is a GE Aerospace manufacturing shop that makes HPT Airfoil Cores and Castings. We are a low-rate production shop that develops the leading edge of airfoil technology to deliver value through new product introduction and manufacturing industrialization.

    Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage industrial project timelines, and ensure the tasks are accomplished timely.
    • Develop equipment specifications based on technical criteria and quality requirements.
    • Understand current yield performance and translate the quality data into equipment requirements to ensure future desires yield.
    • Manage the supplier selection process, including technical capabilities and adherence to the budget targets.
    • Successfully interface with the DCC leadership team, including the technical team, quality team and production team.
    • Develop industrial layout, standard work and industrial strategy based on lean manufacturing concepts.
    • Successfully lead the equipment development process, from the start up at the vendor location to the integration at the DCC plant.
    • Utilize problem solving methodologies to find new solutions to difficult technical challenges that impact both yield and cost.
    • Develop expertise in own function of ceramics and/or casting technology.
    • Influence others to ensure delivery by partnering with other parts of the organization.
    • Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and question conflicting data for analysis. Use multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
    • Use data to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university {or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of equipment development (specification, building, procurement of industrial equipment) experience}
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience

    Desired Characteristics

    • Bachelors degree in Automation or Materials Engineering
    • Masters degree in industrial engineering
    • Demonstrated knowledge with industrial injection molding
    • Experience developing and installing production processes
    • Models the GE Behaviors (Humility, Transparency, Focus): this is mission-critical for all GE leaders as an enabler for continuous improvement
    • Results orientation must deliver sustainable results
    • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a leadership perspective and leverage lean to drive improvement

    • Knowledge of and experience applying lean in transactional and shop floor situations (standardized work, material & information flows, level production and pull systems)
    • Experience with NPI development is an advantage
    • Experience with Airfoils, Ceramics, and/or Castings is an advantage
    • Experience with Additive technology is an advantage
