Position Summary...
What you'll do...
We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join Walmart Fulfillment Services and Marketplace Engineering team. This hands-on role requires exceptional coding skills, a passion for technology and engineering excellence, and the ability to guide and mentor a large team of engineers. You will play a pivotal role in defining and maintaining our technical architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability requirements and cost optimization.
About the Team:
Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) offers end-to-end fulfillment services for Walmart Marketplace sellers. We uniquely offer wide range of features, scale, quality, cost, and efficiency to sellers to grow their successful business on Walmart.com. As a Staff Software Engineer in this team, you will have the opportunity to work on end-to-end fulfillment experience at a scale.
This is a collaborative team made up of Engineering, Product, Business and Analytics working on building new products and features in an iterative fashion that caters for the growth of Walmart and its Marketplace sellers. We deliver high performing supply chain solutions like simplify inbound inventory intake, preferred carrier program, faster receiving at consolidation centers, personalized forecast, and allocation etc., are just a few of the features built by this team in collaboration with many other teams.
What You'll Do:
As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to- To be a technical lead, design, develop and lead multiple Business or Technology driven projects with small to medium sized teams to support new functionalities and user experiences.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping architectural decisions, championing scalable and efficient solutions to meet present and future needs.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates, other teams and engineers.
- Guide software engineers to build & deliver secured rest services built using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Kafka, Kubernetes, Maven build, Cloud migration etc.
- Take ownership, lead and contribute across the technical stack to improve speed of delivery, developer productivity and related goals.
- Drive Availability, Quality, Performance, and Resiliency related goals with your team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, Business and Operational support to grasp the requirements and deliver top-tier software product.
- Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality), performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues, engaging support teams when needed, developing solutions, driving the development of an action plan, performing actions as designated in the plan, and completing online documentation.
- Possess excellent communication skills to be able to communicate with peers and stakeholders.
- Enjoy spending your day writing & reviewing code and also lead design discussions.
- Help put tools, processes, and documentation in place to improve our code quality.
What you'll Bring...- Atleast 6+ years of extensive software development experience building Complex Architectures, Distributed Systems and Micro-Services.
- Expert level knowledge and understanding of Java Technologies, SQL/NOSQL Databases, Distributed Caching, Event streaming platform like Kafka, Container Technologies.
- A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment.
- A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level and a passion for adopting the latest features in Kubernetes, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Hands on with BigQuery (Data warehouse), Cloud Bigtable (NoSQL) will be a plus.
- Effectively translating requirements into project parameters while working with agility.
- Helping cross-functional teams to solve for business problems and develop solutions that enable us to redefine a 'best-in-class' customer experience.
- Encouraging the project teams that you oversee to work collaboratively and to aim for insight-driven outcomes.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Stock equity incentives
