Job Summary and Qualifications
Our Licensed Vocational Nurses raise the bar by providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. Our 39-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation LVNs coordinate and deliver high quality, patient centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services. In collaboration with the RN and other members of the care team, the LVN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate skilled care for adult patients while they recover their strength and functioning after debilitating injury, stroke, trauma, amputation, neurological disorders, orthopedic intervention and surgical procedures. Teamwork is the key on our floor as we interact well with our Physicians, Therapists and Social Workers. From treatment to patient and family education, our rehabilitation specialists customize a plan of care based on each individuals diagnosis, needs and personal goal.
What You Will Do In This Role:
- Provide direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.
- Assist with procedures, monitoring, or other functions as directed.
- Perform lab and procedural tests within the LVN/LPN scope of practice, after demonstrating competency.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Serve as a resource to department staff, students and volunteers to help deliver quality patient care.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse/LVN in TX
- Vocational School Graduate
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Minimum one year of hospital nursing experience preferred
- Inpatient Rehab and longer stay Med Surg experience is also acceptable
