Cloud Support Technician - RapidScale

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential Duties include but are not limited to):
~ 30 % allocation of time
o Maintain multiple customers' operating systems and application versions.
o Patch / Update OS, VDI, and Networking applications and appliances.
~ 30 % allocation of time
o Triage & remediate incoming alerts.
o Update and Manage case backlog based on internal policies.
~ 20% allocation of time
o Work cohesively with a team as well as all divisions of company. Customer-first approach.
o Work on special projects with other teams to provide feedback and develop improvements to processes and systems.
~ 10 % allocation of time
o Crisis Management - Identify any high priority issues, escalate to the next level, and plan process to remediate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE & OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided.
EDUCATIONAL & SOFT SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:- High School Diploma/GED
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Be able to listen to, accept, and follow directions from more senior engineers.
AVAILABLITY:- Work 40+ hours a week. (NOC/Patching team operates 8x5 and potential maintenance windows)
- Shift can vary based on maintenance work required.
- Full time onsite / potential hybrid remote
MINIMUM TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: 1-3 years of Experience- Proficiency in computer usage, internet, and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Basic Networking (Ping, Trace Route, Gateway, DNS, Subnet, IP Address, MAC Address)
- Basic Active Directory
- Basic Troubleshooting Fundamentals
- Basic understanding of what the Cloud is.
- Basic understanding of what Virtualization is.
- Basic understanding of how technology interacts (ex: how does AD effect logging into a computer if there's no network)
DESIRED TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:- One of the following: Associates Degree, 2 years of Technical College or 1-3 years of related work experience
- Knowledge in Active Directory
- Knowledge in Networking
- Server Performance Monitoring
DESIRED TOOL/ENVIRONMENT EXPERIENCE:- Citrix Desktop and/or Hosted Applications
- SalesForce
- N-able
- VMWare Horizon View
- Azure
- Fortigate
- Velo Cloud
- Veeam
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS:
Ability to work within a cooperative team environment as well as perform assignments autonomously. This position will require working with several departments and different personalities.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Fast paced, positive, high-energy environment. Can have high levels of stress due to deadlines and necessity of quick response times.
USD 21.06 - 31.63 per hour
