    JobSummary
    A professional registered nurse that specializes in wound care and will provide assistance to the hospitals Skin & Wound Care Program. Responsibilities include skin, wound and ostomy care consultations and recommendations, support evaluations of programs and products and staff education.

    Qualifications

    Education:Graduate of a school of nursing.Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree in Nursing (or matriculation in accredited program) preferred.

    Experience: One (1) year RN experience . Minimum of 3-5 years recent patient care experience in skin & wound.


    License and Certification: Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire. Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications. Certification as a Wound Nurse required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Basic knowledge of Nursing principles and practices. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions. Communicates effectively in order to provide technical or complex information as well as instruction. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, managers and patients. Ability to handle multiple priorities, be flexible and a team player. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Commitment to customer service. Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data.


    Demonstrated knowledge of the teaching/learning process and principles of adult education. Must recognize the legal aspects of nursing. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, and managers. Demonstrated written and presentation skills. Ability to read and understand oral and written material and effectively communicate technical or complex information. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a hectic work environment. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability to work collaboratively with all departments. Strong customer service orientation. Proficient skills in windows based software (including word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation programs) required in order to perform a multitude of job duties.
