    Assistant Controller

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting the Controller in various financial functions, and assisting with financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic corporate and large multi-site environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, P&L reporting for all sites, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies.
    • Month-end and Year-end Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes by reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for all sites.
    • Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and respond to inquiries during audits.
    • Budgets and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide analysis to identify variances and opportunities for improvement.
    • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile and review various balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and tax filings. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting and financial regulations.
    • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations
    • Supervision: Oversee a team of accounting and finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentoring
    • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis to support decision-making, assess the financial health of the organization, and provide recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement

    Qualifications:

    • Masters Degree and/or CPA with a Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role
    • Proficient in financial software (Great Plains) and Microsoft Excel
    • Prior experience managing revenue of $50m or higher
    • Prior management experience leading a team of 3 or more people
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Detail-orientated with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in work
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

    Compensation:

    $140,000 - $165,000
