The Senior Database Engineer leads the support and maintenance of the manufacturing operation data systems including hardware and software for plant OT systems. They ensure OT systems meet Abbott IT system and Cybersecurity requirements while proactively maintaining maximum system uptime.
Responsibilities
Support and maintain manufacturing operation data systems including hardware and software for the manufacturing plant Operational Technology (OT) systems. For example: OSI PI, iTAC, Oracle manufacturing databases, etc.
Coordinate with IT support team as needed to maintain secured OT infrastructure for manufacturing operation and actively participate in Cyber Security compliance initiatives.
Provide Manufacturing Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) architecture support
Work with Division teams to deploy manufacturing operations data systems as part of cross-functional capital project delivery team.
Coordinate with internal quality and process authority organizations to ensure regulatory compliance
Maintain solutions for Critical Process Parameters Monitoring and Process Data Reporting
Resolve underlying problems: Identify customer/ client needs and propose solutions to address them; make alterations in products or services to better meet (recognized or unrecognized) customer need, e.g., partners with an outside vendor to provide a better deliverable.
Provide on call support of plant OT systems
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Level 7 NFQ qualification in Engineering /Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
A Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar position.
Ability to interpret data, discuss findings and resolve complex analytical problems.
Recognize adverse trends and emerging issues.
Propose and implement solutions to internal and external issues.
Strong problem solving.
