Please note that this position is with the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word at Villa de Matel Center located in Houston, Texas. The Villa de Matel Center is the home for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. It is also used as a central gathering place for the Sisters and their ministries, a retirement center for the Sisters and a retreat center for the public. Summary

The Technical Specialist III will focus on operations and support of Villa de Matel technical environment including network infrastructure, servers, and core services. This position will be responsible for maintaining system health, issue resolution, system monitoring, and reporting. The Technical Specialist III is expected to have advanced technical knowledge with assigned technologies, serves as Tier 1 support, and is primarily focused on issue resolution. The Technical Specialist III will provide quality support to both internal and external customers with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise and timeliness.

Requirements

Education/Skills

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience (6 years).

Working knowledge of mainframe, midrange, and microcomputer, networking strategies, environments, equipment, development tools and methodologies.

Working knowledge of mainframe or midrange operating systems such as UNIX, Linux, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Novell NetWare.

Problem solving skills.

Strong customer service skills.

Multi-tasking ability.

Time Management.

Detail oriented.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Experience

Five or more years combined experience and/or education in a technical discipline required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

One or more of the following or similar industry certifications preferred: A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Unix/Linux certification, Storage Technology Certification
