    FSQA Technician

    As an FSQA Technician you will responsible for supporting production by assuring the food safety and quality of inredients, mixes, finished product and environment of the plant are sustained.

    Responsibilities:

    • Abide by all plant Safety, Health & Environmental policies and actively participate in safety activities
    • Support all initiatives and actively participate in all processes and activities
    • Perform all chemical, physical, and microbiological tests for ingredient mixes and finished products
    • Analyzing bulk and finished products using a variety of techniques including, pH, Viscosity, Color, Odor, and Appearance
    • Releasing products using computer systems including SAP and MS Office
    • Participate in operational project teams for quality improvement and/or cost reduction
    • Monitor product quality and assist in continuous improvement
    • Able to lead and drive completion of Root Cause Analysis
    • Utilizes appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the task
    • Contributes to reducing costs due to product waste and minimizing the impact on health, safety, and the environment through the correct handling of product
    • Follow Unilever quality standards to include GMPs which include personal health and hygiene, HACCP, allergen control, foreign material control, and product integrity
    • Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Food Science, Microbiology or Human Ecology required.Post-Secondary Education in Food Science or related field is preferred
    • 1-2 yeaars work experience in the food industry - bakery experience preferred
    • Knowledgeable of and able to train procedures, programs and systems, including but not limited to:
      • Incoming ingredients, rework, environmental and sanitation
      • Hold and Release program
      • SPC program
      • Consumer complaints investigation
      • Cutting, Sensory, Sampling, New product trials
      • Good manufacturing practices (GMPs), HACCP, etc.
    • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, & Word)
    • Effectively communicate issues, both written and verbal, reating to safety, FSQA, output and cost; can provide operationa observations and inputs to support overall team objectives
