The Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute is a fully certified member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Alliance. The MSK Cancer Alliance is an initiative designed to establish partnerships between MSK and local care providers. Opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to provide value-based care to Bone Marrow Transplant and General Oncology patients in primarily outpatient settings, located at Hartford Hospital, and surrounding sites in Hartford County.
Some highlights of this opportunity include:
Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse Practitioners (APRN) function in a split role between bone marrow transplant and general hematology oncology.
- Bone Marrow Transplant responsibilities include:
- Managing bone marrow transplant patients in coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including pre-bone marrow transplant evaluations, post-transplant follow-up and monitoring for early and late complications, as well as survivorship evaluations and immunization counseling.
- Oncology / Hematology responsibilities include:
- Triage and the spectrum of outpatient management: urgent visits, chemotherapy pre-treatment visits, clinical trials management, follow up appointments, and ongoing survivorship care. Inpatient rounding may also be included.

Qualifications
- National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) is required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is required
- Oncology experience is highly preferred
