    Manufacturing Technician

    SUMMARY: Performs assembly operations to complete RF tuning / testing process of printed circuit boards.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

    • Communicates with supervisor to prioritize test / tune scheduled to ensure product is completed on time.

    • Tests or Tunes products using a wide assortment of stock components along with written customer or internal test procedures, work instructions, prints / drawings, assembly aids, Test Fixtures, Test / Tuning Equipment, Measurement Devices, as applicable.

    • Positions components manually or utilizing a variety of small hand tools, such as crimpers, pliers, tweezers, or screw drivers.

    • Uses soldering irons and assorted hand tools to solder wires to terminals to perform through hole and surface mount soldering and de-soldering, where applicable.

    • Occasionally operates measuring and test equipment including Network analyzer, power supply, DMM, and capacitance meter.

    • Records test / tuning results using appropriate documentation, good documentation practices, forms (including customer supplied forms, where applicable), electronic data collection, as required.

    • Verifies calibration and maintenance of testers, equipment, cables, measuring devices etc. prior to use. Process may require documenting of calibration and maintenance status on documentation internal and / or external.

    • Verifies and maintains records of test / tune data in accordance with documented procedures.

    • Clearly identifies nonconforming product based on internal or external procedures.

    • Troubleshoots to component level any test failure as needed.

    • Solicits assistance from supervisor in a timely manner on test failures where troubleshooting was unsuccessful.

    • Occasionally performs rework on circuits that fail test, where applicable

    • Performs analysis, rework, testing / tuning on returned parts to determine root cause of failure

    • Maintains work space, self and equipment to adhere to all Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures, when applicable

    • Recommends continual improvement opportunities as needed and assists with improvement implementation.

    • Does not deviate from documented procedures.

    • Obtains needed training and certification as required.

    • Requires ability to concentrate for extended periods of time on highly repetitive tasks.

    • Works different work stations as needed.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:

    • Completion of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED),

    • Six months to three years related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • J-STD soldering certification, IPC-610 and IPC-620 certification where required for higher grade

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as prints / drawings, schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    • Understanding of basic electronic components and circuitry.

    • Ability to write technical reports, where requires

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

    • Ability to apply problem solving techniques to determine root cause and / or to eliminate bottlenecks and roadblocks
