RN Ortho Neuro Weekend Day Shift
Job SummaryThis is a Weekend Program consisting of working 48 out of 52 weekends in various locations throughout the system as need arises. The weekend is defined as shifts between the hours of 3:00 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Monday. However, specific times may vary according to location and need.This position includes premium weekend pay as well as competitive shift differentials!
Provide direction and supervision to other health care professionals and ancillary staff. Perform the role of Preceptor and/or Charge RN as appropriate. Evaluate care for specific patient populations, using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provide and coordinate nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data in determining nursing diagnosis, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in coordination with the patient/family and other team members as appropriate.Essential Functions- Direct, supervise, evaluate and provide nursing care to patients in assigned area. Demonstrate clinical competency and compassion in providing care, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies using the prescribed nursing process. Train, coach and assist team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of supplies, equipment and resources.
- Assign nursing personnel and collaborate with physicians, other services, patient and patients family to plan care and evaluate outcomes.
- Maintain standard of nursing care and implement policies and procedures of Lakeland Health and the nursing department with high quality and in a timely manner.
- Act as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights, safety, privacy, confidentiality and the customer relations philosophy.
- Document care according to established standards. Access, input and retrieve information from computer systems (EPIC).
- Assure continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain open and positive communication in all aspects of job performance.
- Maintain a commitment to professional growth and development by participation in mandatory annual in-services, certification, Lakeland Health committees and educational programs for improvement of self to maintain competency.
- Required Associate's Degree or equivalent Nursing
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree Nursing within 5 years
- 1 year of relevant experience of acute care experience Required
- EPIC documentation experience. Required
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross required
