Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN), on our Progressive Care Unit PCU you will support our 16-bed telemetry stepdown unit with a typical 1:4 patient ratio. Our unit provides high acuity level of care to a wide variety of GI Surgery, stroke, cardiac, neuro, telemetry, post-surgical, drip medications, chest pain, etc. While providing clinical and administrative support on the unit, you willwork closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patients needs. You will also coordinate unit activities and assure accountability of all assigned tasks.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
