    Our Internship Program

    Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses. The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth. Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our internship program runs from June to August.

    Role Overview

    We develop, automate and support continuously running tests for our real-time systems. We care deeply about system reliability, testability, recoverability and fault tolerance. Our QA engineers have a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and software engineering. We are analytical thinkers. We are always learning our craft. If its broken, we fix it. If it needs refactoring, we refactor it. If its hard to test, we make it testable. We love automation. We are pragmatic. We ship code weekly. Were looking for like-minded individuals to join us.

    Be a member of the Cboe QA development team, working alongside our team of developers contributing tests for our new Index Platform and our Floor Trading environment. Become familiar with index calculation methodologies transforming data into industry known calculations. Learn Floor Trading concepts, applying this knowledge to develop a wide variety of test scenarios.

    Requirements

    • Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, pursing Master's Degree in Computer Science preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
    • Experience with Python and/or Java or experience in another language with a strong desire to learn Python or Java.
    • Comfortable with working in a Linux/Unix terminal and knowledge of at least one scripting language preferred.
    • Self-directed, self-motivated.

    As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of pay for this role is $30 - $36/an hour. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
