    Job Summary

    • The RN in the Med/Surgical/Pediatrics Department will be knowledgeable in the care of the following age groups and maintain RN clinical competency in these groups: Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Sr. Adult, and Geriatric.
    • All nursing care functions/responsibilities are based on the ANA standards.
    • Responsible for the compliance of Physician/Provider orders.
    • Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Averas Mission and Averas Service Excellence Standards.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Graduate of Registered Nursing Education program.
    • 3 years of experience required.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire and must be maintained.
    • ACLS is recommended.
    • PALS is highly recommended.
    • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
    • Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.

    Work Schedule

    • Hours:
      • Position requires 72 hours worked in a six-week schedule equating to 624 hours annually, not exceeding 1248 hours in a 12 month period.
      • Sixweekends required annually.

    Pay

    • Flat Rate pay of $50.00
