Overview:We are looking for a Nurse Preceptor to join our hospice team.
We are building a pool of internal Nurse Preceptors who will travel and provide training support at our Gentiva, SouthernCare, and Heartland branches in the state of Indiana. This is a permanent, full time position with benefits.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have 2-3 years of hospice case management experience.
- Have some experience and comfort level with in-person training, remote/video training, and ride-along training to patient visits.
- Be highly organized and flexible.
- Easily earn trust so new hires are comfortable asking questions.
- Develop training schedules and best practices.
- Demonstrate comfort and confidence in sharing expertise and opinions.
- Need to be able to do hands-on training in the field, at bedside. Show you, now you do it.' This is not an office position.
This position reports to the AVPO and is responsible for providing high interaction with patients as well as new hire clinicians during hospice visits.
- Facilitates the learning experience to allow preceptees to perform competently in their required responsibilities. This is achieved through mentoring, coaching, and role modeling correct behaviors.
- Performs patient home visits in accordance with physicians orders.
- Orients new nurses (preceptees) which includes hospice clinical policies and procedures, documentation, technology, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical setting
- Diploma, Associates or Bachelors degree in Nursing
- Unencumbered RN license in work state assigned
