    Intermediate Care Unit - Registered Nurse

    Experience:

    24 months of Intermediate Care Unit experience is required.

    Travel experience is required.

    Requirements:

    Candidates must have a Massachusetts license prior to placement start.

    Candidates must live at least 75 miles away from this facility in order to be considered a traveler when applying for this role.

    Additional Details:

    BMC does not have telemetry technicians. Candidates are required to take and pass an advanced Dysrhythmia exam after an offer is extended and before accepting.

    Every other weekend and holidays.

    Required Exp: 2+ years recent acute care experience.

    Must have surgical stepdown experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

    IMCU/Stepdown experience, auto med dispensing and more than 1 previous travel assignment.

    Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips. Tele test and CC Med test on day 1.

    Preferred Exp: Tertiary facility experience.

    Unit sees post-operative patients requiring intermediate care transferred from PACU or SICU and includes cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients.

    Average patient ratio of 1:3, 1:4 or 1:4-5 if MedSurg floor patients.

    Must be available to be flexible during 1st week orientation, to include, but not limited to those assigned to Monday-Friday, day shift(s)

    References: Minimum 1 to submit (Manager or Charge nurse - No supervisor)

    1 reference from last 12 months (Charge/Lead reference type)

    BLS (Basic Life Support)

    ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
