    Overview:

    The Director-Quality Management provides strategic direction and management of quality initiatives including planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of quality-related projects and programs. This position is responsible for the management and administrative oversight for assigned aspects of the quality management program such as, but not limited to: Infection Control, Patient Relations, Performance Improvement/Lean Transformation, Peer Review, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Compliance. Works closely with the medical staff, administration, and leaders to improve quality of care. Supports the organization's ongoing effort to promote high quality, safe and efficient patient care and to ensure patient satisfaction. Provides overall technical guidance and leadership related to aggregation and utilization of data from performance and other reports. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

    Qualifications:
    • Experience: Five or more years of relevant experience with experience in and an understanding of current healthcare dynamics and a strong foundation in the theory and principles of process improvement, decision making, and process design is essential.
    • Required Education: Healthcare related undergraduate degree AND current licensure associated with clinical undergraduate degree.
    • Preferred Education: Graduate degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
    • Other: Knowledge of complex hospital systems and processes required. Superior organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Strong leadership qualities and effective change agent. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and lead teams. Computer skills - MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience in performance improvement and quality management. Lean training and experience with Value Stream Management tools, Kaizen methods, strategy deployment, and other key Lean tools and methodologies. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred, or to acquire within 2 years of role attainment; Six Sigma Black Belt certification and/or Lean Sensei preferred. Knowledge of risk management principles and issues related to patient safety. Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and accreditation.
