The role youll contribute:
The Nurse Manager NICU is responsible for the management of multiple team(s) of clinical and support staff providing hospice and palliative care to an assigned case load of patients.The position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all staff on their assigned team.

- Providesoverall direction of the operations related to assigned interdisciplinary team(s).
- Maintains knowledge and communicates to staff regarding policies and procedures required to comply with federal, state and local guidelines as well as Medicare, Medicaid and insurance reimbursement requirements. Interprets requirements to determine eligibility when a unique or questionable case is referred.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates interdisciplinary team (IDT) goals and objectives.
- Reviews IDT documentation and charting to ensure it is timely, accurate and complete. Communicates with Health Information Management department to update incomplete documentation.
- Investigates, documents, resolves and reports on problems and issues involving staff or quality of care.
- Conducts weekly interdisciplinary team meetings to review and ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
- Acts as a liaison with physicians regarding clinical issues.
- Acts as a liaison with family members to address questions, resolve problems, or counsel regarding end of life expectations.
- Accompanies staff periodically to evaluate performance and knowledge and lend expertise and guidance to improve subordinate skills.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, procedures and applicable laws, including employment laws.
- Works collaboratively with the Human Resources Department in accomplishing employee interviewing, hiring, training and coaching functions.
- Works collaboratively with the Human Resources Department to address complaints and assist in resolving employee relation issues.
- Rewards and holds employees accountable for their performance/behaviors as necessary.
- Oversees and ensures that the required hospice orientation and training and applicable on the job training is completed by staff.
- Schedules and attends meetings with management in the community in order to market Hospice services, ensures customer satisfaction and to increase referrals.
- Resolves issues with customer in a timely and satisfactory manner, in order to promote excellent service to our patients and other customers.
- Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in services and other related activities.
- Attends educational and developmental seminars and meetings, as deemed appropriate.
- Communicates with other departments on subjects including medical records, benefits, finance, case management, marketing, Home Medical Equipment, and other organizational areas.
- Associates Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse including three years supervisory experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Administrator.
- A clear/active Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association)
- Knowledge of electronic medical record.
- Knowledge of nursing skills in the performance of duties in compliance with the legal and ethical parameters established and based on the level of education and certification attained by the employee.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
- Home health and/or acute care nursing experience.
- Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing certification.
- 2 years of leadership experience
- NICU experience
