Product Design Engineer

Scope of Position:

Works with Dadanco Engineering & Sales personnel in developing new products and Improving existing products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards.

• Use 3D modeling software to turn product concepts into detailed designs, prototypes, and real products
• Create manufacturing drawings for parts in 3D modeled designs
• Hands-on work in Dadanco's test lab to validate prototype design, evaluate performance of products
• Collecting and analyzing data from lab tests
• Support manufacturing personnel in part fabrication and product assembly
• Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested

Position Requirements:

The Product Design Engineer must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:

• Associate Engineering Technology or equivalent discipline or two year technical trade school with a focus on CAD
• Proficient with Autodesk Inventor (recent versions) or similar 3D modeling software
• Approximately 5 years experience in sheet metal design
• Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing including shearing, CNC punching, laser cutting, and bending
• HVAC system design knowledge preferred
• Proficient with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
• Five years design experience with Inventor in a project team environment
• Must also be creative, flexible and innovative team player
