    Job Description Summary:

    Maximus is searching for a Data Architect for a team in Arlington, VA.

    Position Overview:

    The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Directorate and to support senior level leadership. The candidate must be able to provide strategic advice, counsel, and sound recommendations to support and defend policy decisions, synchronize investments, and drive sound outcomes.

    The candidate will create, define, and evolve the as-is and to-be data architecture for the DoD SAP IT data services. Provide a framework to determine how to grow new data assets and evaluate existing data assets. Also, provide data architecture services and perform data architecture reviews, ensuring the compliance of design and meta-data standards.

    The successful candidate will:

    Support the client to ensure executability and adherence to Department of Defense policies.
    Develop documents to support Program Objective Memorandum Requirements
    Support the development and maintenance of CDO documentation.
    Assist with the development of annual reporting requirements to Congress.
    Inform senior leaders within the DoD on CDO requirements.
    Provide effective verbal and written correspondence.
    Self-starter with ability to work independently and part of a cross-functional team.
    Participate in client data standards committees.
    Investigate and implements new and improved data standards including the conversion of legacy data standards.
    Help plan, develop, and implement data services in support of data profiling, curation including data cleansing.
    Create Data mapping documents: source to target.
    Collaborates with Chief Architect, Application Architect, and Security Architect for architecture development and implementation aligned with DoDAF.

    Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

    Active TS/SCI clearance.
    A Bachelor's degree is required for this position. 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. An Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
    5+ years of extensive experience using AWS and other DoD cloud services.
    10+ years of expertise in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, AI/ML/NLP, data profiling.
    10+ years of experience mapping customer legacy data models to target Data Models.
    5+ years of experience with performing CDO analysis, process analysis, and requirements analysis.
    5+ years of experience accumulating proficiency in structured, semi-structured and structured data sets.
    5+ years of mastery, knowledge of, & skill in applying new data technologies, data management processes, system analysis principles and techniques, and process engineering concepts sufficient to recommend the most beneficial implementation approaches, assess the impact of new data management and IT policies and lead implementation activities.
    5+ years of experience with leading design, implementation, and management of IT data abstraction layers.
    5+ years of experience standardizing data architecture and data management practices.
    5+ years of experience driving and managing operational data standards.
    5+ years of experience creating and implementing data business riles/logic and data lifecycle management (cradle to grave).
    5+ years of experience developing and delivering long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with data owners, mission managers, and other key stakeholders.
    5+ years of experience identifying and facilitating the implementation of effective solutions across an enterprise for addressing data related needs.
    Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, including ability to pivot and respond to and integrate information from various sources.
    Ability to absorb and synthesize information from various outlets and develop effective products for senior DoD leadership.

    Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

    Desired experience working with Special Access Programs and working at the OSD, Joint Staff or Service Staff level.
    Desired experience ML, AI, Python and R and Data Ontologies experience
