    Sr DevOps Engineer Lead

    Job Description:

Thats why were actively seeking a DevOps Engineer Lead to join our team and take part in our people-first culture. This role reports to the Head of Technology Platform Operations of the Workforce Benefits Division and the role will be in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid or 100% remote (depending on location).

    As a DevOps Lead Engineer with expertise in CI/CD, Service Management and ITIL, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our software delivery pipelines, ensuring system reliability, and improving overall service quality. You will lead a team of DevOps engineers and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of DevOps practices, optimizing development workflows, and ensure the reliability and scalability of software applications in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role plays a pivotal role in improving software delivery processes and enhancing the overall quality of IT operations.

    How you will make an impact:

    • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance and expertise in DevOps, ITIL and Service Management principles, but also able to translate to business speak when partnering with the business

    • DevOps Strategy: Define and implement the DevOps strategy, best practices, and standards for the organization

    • ITIL Implementation: Implement and maintain ITIL best practices to improve service delivery, incident management, problem resolution, change management, and configuration management processes

    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment, testing, and monitoring

    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible to ensure scalability, reliability, and consistency of infrastructure components

    • Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and system outages

    • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with security teams to enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards

    • Collaboration: Foster collaboration between development and operations teams, promoting a culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement

    • Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Lead the team in diagnosing and resolving production issues, implementing incident response procedures, and contributing to root cause analysis.

    • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of DevOps processes, standards, and procedures

    • Service Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve service delivery, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency gains

    • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with DevOps-related vendors and third-party service providers

    The experience you will bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

    • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in a DevOps team lead role

    • Familiarity with agile (e.g. SAFe Agile) and DevOps methodologies

    • Familiarity with IT infrastructure and systems, including cloud platforms and integrations

    • Service Management experience (i.e. Incident, Problem, Change & Release)

    • Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code

    • Proficiency with DevOps tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and Ansible)

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Teams, SharePoint, ADO, JIRA, and a CI/CD framework

    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

    • Strong communication and leadership abilities

    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus

    • Familiarity with monitoring platforms (e.g. XMatters, Grafana, Anypoint Insight, Splunk)

    • Serve as an escalation point for tier 1 & 2 for complex support issues

    • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus

    What will make you stand out:

    • Proven experience leading and influencing technical teams comprised of contractors and outsourced team members

    • Knowledge of ITIL framework primarily in Service Transition and Service Operations

    • You embrace the ambiguity and complexity associated with participating in a new business and new team structure

    Base Pay Range:

    The base pay range noted represents the companys good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

    $127,890.00 - $156,310.00
