Position Title: Wood Worker

Wage: $17.50/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: Monday-Thursday 6am-4pm + OT on Friday 3-5 hours


QPS Employment Group has partnered with a well-known manufacturing company in the Cedar Valley to hire associate to hire Wood Workers! After only two months, you are eligible to be hired on with this company to start receiving their excellent benefit package!

Wood Worker Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Operate one or more sanding machines equipped with sanding belts or sanding heads, such as disks, drums, spools, or brushes mounted on vertical or horizontal spindles to smooth surfaces and edges of hand held wooden parts, boards, or furniture parts by performing the following duties

- Read cabinet assembly lists and drawings

- Press button or switch to start machine

- Hold and turn stock by hand against sanding head or belt or places stock on table or in jig and push stock back and forth against sanding head or belt, until rough surfaces and edges of stock are smooth

- Examine and feel stock to verify smoothness

- Perform quality checks hourly to meet company quality standards

- Replace worn sandpaper belts or sandpaper on sanding heads

Wood Worker Requirements:

- Frequently reach with hands and arms; walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, or reach; and talk or hear

- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs

- Stand for duration of 10-hour shift

- Assembly work experience preferred

- Ability to read a tape measure
