    Pay Range: $20.00-$24.00/hr.

    Position Overview

    Delivers materials to job site, primarily delivering wall panels and/or trusses requiring oversized load permits. Inspects and maintains truck, reports shortages and claims to supervisor, and assi st s in loading and st oring of materials. Typically, driving a truck with a capacity of more than three tons, and may be a

    more experienced driver who also operates a forklift. Also includes more experienced tractor trailer drivers.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Operates Safely
    • Participates in a positive work environment
    • Maintains a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License as required
    • Prepares DOT required log of time on duty and driving
    • Organizes and secures load
    • Assi st s forklift operators when loading
    • Checks orders for accuracy
    • Delivers and unloads materials to cu st omers' satisfaction
    • Completes daily equipment pre-inspection
    • Records all merchandise that is returned by truck, assi st s in unloading material returned for credit
    • Follows guidelines e st ablished by the Department of Transportation
    • Provides Excellent Cu st omer Service
    • Relays messages sent by cu st omers while on job


    • Assi st s supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned
    • Assi st s in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse
    • Complies with all company policies and guidelines
    • Safe and efficient operation of truck mounted forklift
    • Maintain cleanliness of truck
    • Participates in and completes assigned trainings
    • Performs other duties as assigned by Management


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Minimum education preferred - High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
    • Ability to do basic math, read orders, write in st ructions and complete forms.
    • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with cu st omers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills .
    • Ability to deal con st ructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
    • Maintains current operator's license and meets company driver qualification requirements.
    • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
    • Physical demands include st ooping, bending, twi st ing and throwing. Working in a variety of climates and environmental conditions. Ability to lift up 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
    • Proficiency with or ability to learn current techno log i es ( e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).


    Criteria for Level II

    • 5+ years indu st ry experience / freight handling (and 1 year CDL experience for inter st ate commerce).


    • Skills demon st ration: Special product handling, access to tight spaces, residential deliveries, demon st rate proficiency with equipment operations
    • Excellent teamwork & cu st omer relationships
    • Demon st ration of leadership (three out of four required):


    • Mentor new associates
    • Willingness to train others
    • Safety committee engagement
    • Participation in US1 Continuous Improvement project
