    Salary for this role is $55,000 annually, negotiable based on education and experience.

    Purpose & Impact:

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation and evaluation of accounting and financial reporting of LSF Health Systems and its sub-awards.

    Essential Functions:

    • Develop and maintain reports to facilitate the financial reporting operations.
    • Perform procurement of goods and services per existing policies and procedures including participation in, but not limited to preparation of cost analysis, contract review, and negotiations.
    • Prepare and record close-out Journals, Accounts Payable, and Account Receivable entries as needed monthly.
    • Work closely with Sr. Accountant to perform accounting-related tasks.
    • Assist Grant Accountant with grant management tasks.
    • Produces, Analyzes, and Distributes financial reports to staff and management.
    • Assists in the preparation of Annual Budget, month-end financials, and year-end close.
    • Assist with inventory management including but not limited to tagging, tracking, and reconciling semi-annually.

    Other Functions:

    • Understand the nature of the award by reviewing the project description including RFAs/RFPs/project narratives and other supporting documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with federal & state regulations including donor-specific requirements.
    • Assist with preparing files for audits, and reports in response to auditors questions.
    • Provide ad-hoc account analyses, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    Energy, persistence, and stamina are sufficient for functioning as a part of a team in a fast-paced office environment.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of primary responsibility for overseeing, monitoring, supporting, accounting, and reporting for multiple projects or grant program operations.
    • Previous experience with MIP is a plus.
    • Non-profit & fund accounting experience is also a plus.

    Skills:

    Must be detailed oriented, a problem solver with the ability to analyze and interpret grant programs and implement them within the organization. The Staff Accountant should be able to establish strong working relationships with colleagues, peers, funders, subcontractors, and collaborators. Be knowledgeable of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Must have a collaborative working style that can drive results through influence and communication skills. Should have good writing skills and prefer advanced Excel skills.

    Other:

    Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    • Reports to the LSF Health Systems Controller.
    • Team player with providers and co-workers.
    • Accurate, complete and timely submission of all required financial assignments.
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and other funding source regulations and requirements for non-profit organizations including the Uniform Guidance 2 CFR Part 200.
    • Cost-effective operations.
