Assistant Store Manager
SUMMARY
The primary role of the Assistant Manager is to serve as a reliable back-up to the Store Manager. Together, the Store Manager and Assistant Manager are responsible for ensuring all aspects of running a safe, efficient, productive, and profitable store are achieved.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- The successful Assistant Manager will be capable of working with little or no direct supervision, be computer literate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be analytical and have good decision-making abilities.
- Understands and performs all functions of associate work-related tasks including: Softline stocking, merchandising/display, sizing, pricing, dressing rooms maintenance and un-purchased merchandise returned to inventory. Hardlines stocking, merchandising/display, maintenance, sizing and pricing. Backroom, merchandising, maintenance, stocking, and safety. Clerical procedures. Understands and practices great customer service.
- Assists Store Manager (at manager's request or in their absence) in: Calculating labor percentages. Scheduling work assignments. Performing daily walk through. Register countdowns. Petty cash countdowns. Processing returns checks. Going after change. Handles and disperses gift certificates. Insuring completion of new hire documentation. Store closings. Handling voids, associate sales, and customer service/complaints. Handling phone calls. Morning associate meetings. Reading and responding to email. Understands, upholds, and reinforces all store and company policies.
- Works with, and as the stock manager in opening stocks. Assists in overseeing and training associate work and standard operating procedures. Assists or performs (at mgr.'s request or absence) daily evaluations including 'Instant Appraisals' and conference reports. Effectively runs daily store operations for manager during their absence. Performs any other various tasks that is requested by manager or needed done
- Weekly (Assists at manager's request, directive, or absence). Payroll and labor report. Schedule next week's labor. Conducts interviews (when necessary). Petty cash report.
- Associate/Customer accident or incidents reported immediately. Orders all necessary store supplies and fixtures.
Requirements- Strong Computer Skills with the ability to process information through the store computer system register and complete all required paperwork.
- Must be able to Travel (10%)
- At least one year of supervisor/leadership skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Dependable Transportation
WORKING CONDITIONS:- Ability to work irregular or non-core business hours, nights, weekends as needed to have store coverage
Salary Description
$11.00-12.00 per hour -
