The Manager, Infrastructure Core Engineeringis responsible for managing a team of Systems Engineers and Administrators that design, build, and support many hybrid Quantum Health platforms. These platforms include VMware ESXi, Pure Storage, Windows Server and Linux servers, Microsoft 365, Okta, VMware Horizon VDI, and more. Work will focus on maintaining the infrastructures performance, functionality, lifecycle, capacity, and availability, while working with business partners to identify, plan, implement, and test platforms and any applications that reside on top of those platforms. This person will work closely with other IT teams and should have a thorough understanding of infrastructure platform architecture, core Windows Server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, performance tuning, and maintenance tasks. The Manager, Infrastructure Core Engineering acts as an escalation point for all infrastructure platform issues. This person must be able to be productive in a fast-paced environment and work with minimal supervision. Self-Motivated.

What youll do

• Collaborate with other IT teams to design, implement, and support new and existing infrastructure solutions, based on industry best practices. Hybrid.

• Manage the Infrastructure Engineering team members, maintaining good team morale, creating and updating individual development plans, having 1 on 1 meetings and working with HR to handle disciplinary issues.

• Keep informed of industry trends and new technologies that can or could support future business operations. Seek to Modernize our Infrastructure, phasing out legacy technologies.

• Plan, implement, document, and support configuration changes and/or updates within the Quantum Health change control process, implementing service-impacting changes during off-hour maintenance windows. Working towards smooth on-hours maintenance windows in the future.

• Promote and assure adherence to standard operating procedures that are based on industry best practices.

• Act as an escalation point for issues reported from Operations, resolving Infrastructure issues in a timely manner.

• Manage Infrastructure Engineering team scheduling, including after-hours support and on-call schedule. Act as an escalation point for after-hours and on-call issues.

• All other duties as assigned.

What youll bring

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or equivalent practical experience

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience in Administrator and Engineering roles, including experience in a multi-office environment.

• 5+ years of experience architecting, planning, implementing, and maintaining Windows Server core infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, DHCP, File Services, Print Services, and Certificate Services.

• 5+ years of experience architecting, planning, implementing, and maintaining applications running on Windows Server or Linux server.

• 3+ years of experience managing an IT Infrastructure team with 24x7 on-call responsibilities.

• 3+ years of experience managing on-premises/cloud hybrid environments

• 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft Windows Server and Linux server platform environments.

• 3+ years of experience managing servers in a highly virtualized environment using VMware ESXi, VMware Horizon VDI, shared storage, and virtual networking. Pure Storage experience preferred.

• Ability to follow a change management process.

• Ability to solve difficult and complex problems.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Exhibit a thorough understanding of IP networking and LAN/WAN communication protocols.

• Exhibit a thorough understanding of SMTP messaging.

• Exhibit a thorough understanding of DevOps and automation principles and how to incorporate them into datacenter infrastructure platforms and applications.

• Understand industry trends and best practices as they relate to Windows and Linux systems.

• Exhibit a positive attitude and the ability to be a technical mentor to others.

• Experience working in an Agile environment.

• Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

• Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time.

• Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.
