Job Description
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has a continuing requirement for Secure Enterprise Network Systems, Services, & Support (SENS3) for the continued operations and maintenance and evolution of the Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) and the Classified Local Area Network (C-LAN).
As part of the Enterprise Applications team, the Citrix Engineer will design, implement, and maintain Citrix solutions, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and scalability. You will proactively identify trends, determine incident root causes, and minimize client service interruptions through early identification and resolution of problems. Your expertise in NetScaler ADC/gateway, Citrix PVS, VDI, application publishing, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery will contribute to the success of our virtualization and application delivery initiatives. Support duties may include updating and supporting systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space. Implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues. solution design and best practices for maintain of the and their configurations. The position is a self-lead position to not only work incidents, outages, but the deployment/extension of the backup architecture for both networks on windows and Linux systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and associated components such as StoreFront, Provisioning Services (PVS), Machine Creation Services (MCS), Director, User Profile Management, Desktop Delivery Controllers (DDC).
- Deploy, configure, and maintain non-persistent Citrix Virtual Desktops environments based on Windows and Server OS.
- Conduct regular performance monitoring and optimization of Citrix environments, proactively identifying areas for enhancement.
- Vulnerability management of server and desktops in the service to ensure compliance with the current patching requirements.
- Making and implementing recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels
- Performance-monitoring, tuning, scripting, upgrades and maintenance of production Citrix systems
- Administration on Citrix/Desktops for maintenance, upgrades, and image maintenance, & application updates/upgrades
- Responsible for the workflow & handling of incident tickets, troubleshooting and their resolution.
- Documents and tracks hardware and software configurations, migrations, testing and deployment solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- An active TS/SCI clearance,
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- BS degree and 8 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Operating Systems
- Experience working in a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment
- Experience with Disk Configuration and Installation and Configuration of DNS and Active Directory
- Experience with Systems Policy and Group Policy;
- Experience with Windows Performance Tuning and Windows Server troubleshooting.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills required
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Proactive, self-learner who is motivated & results-oriented with a positive, team-player attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical depth in Citrix virtual desktops, VMware, and Windows Operating Systems
- Hyper-V or other Hyper Visor experience
- Thin Client using Virtual Desktop Interface Technology
- Detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks and heavy workloads efficiently.
- Experience in several of the following areas: Scripting, Powershell, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Certificates (PKI), Application configurations
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, 802.1q tagging, routing protocols preferred.
- Technical IT certifications or experience with the related technologies preferred Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), Citrix Certified Advanced Administrator (CCAA), Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer
- (CCEE), Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA), Azure, AWS, VMware VCP-DCV
Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
