    A BRIEF OVERVIEW


    The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspects of the sites including manufacturing strategy, talent strategy, installing equipment to grow, customer satisfaction, productivity, and talent development. The Plant Manger is responsible for developing and executing manufacturing strategy, aligned with our global standard and allowing sustainable and successful achievement of budget and three-year business strategy financial and customer satisfaction objectives. The Plant Manger role requires high levels of problem-solving ability, deep technical skills, experience in two functions, and impactful leadership and organization savviness allowing the leader to be effective in a complex, matrix organization design. The Plant Manger must have the leadership agility to dive deep into problems and create talent on their teams allowing the director to empower others to take on full responsibility for results and growth.

    The Plant Manger is a key member of the General Managers' Leadership team who has multi-site responsibility. The Plant Manger is also part of the COO's extended leadership team. The Plant Manger' leadership team will include all functions required for success. Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Environmental Health & Safety report directly to the Operations Director. Quality (through VP, Quality and New Product Introduction), Finance and IT (through CFO) and Human Resources (CHRO) are indirect reporting relationships that bring world class process and business service levels and are part of the site expended leadership team.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Ensures business meets all corporate compliance commitments financial, ethics and legal and regulatory including medical device regulations aligned with and supported by the product quality and regulatory compliance officer. Quality and Regulatory Compliance is of utmost importance in Orchid and the orthopedic manufacturing industry.     • Builds trustful relationships with strategic customer base at senior operations, supply chain, and purchasing levels required for success.
    • Understands strategic customers supply chain models and challenges with implementing chosen supply chain models. Develops plans to resolve customer challenges while building switching costs, allowing Orchid to harvest investments for the customer.
    • Implements order fulfillment and quality systems, allowing world class customer satisfaction. This world class execution system allows the Operations Director to focus on improvement and strategic customer relationship development.
    • Customer interactions are deep and trustful, based on ongoing commitment achievement, and strategic alignment to our customer.
    • Creates relationships where Orchid is the preferred customer supplier for all the Operations Directors lines of business.
    • Ensure high quality supply and capacity planning is in place, allowing installation of talent and equipment before demand arrives. Builds labor strategies, based on deep analytics, including demand variation, surge capacity understanding, training periods, and retention rates.
    • Gains approval of any investments required to implement capacity plans.
    • Defines footprint, plant charters, manufacturing processes, cell designs. standardized equipment, and any other strategies required to define and execute our growth roadmap.
    • Clarifies organization support and talent required to implement long-term strategies, including thoughtful talent development, leadership capacity, and succession planning plans.
    • Aligns annual operating target goals to capacity and manufacturing strategy.
    • Ensures processes are in place to deliver annual and strategic objectives, including but not limited to productivity funnels, capacity planning, footprint development, and supply planning.
    • Implements a robust management operating system which quickly highlights necessary adjustment to the cross-functional team, providing confidence that strategic and operational goals will be successfully implemented.
    • Ensures that Orchids matrix organization design works. Aligns direct and indirect reports priorities. Works with functional leaders when alignment is not obvious. Aligns with functional leadership on employee performance, while supporting functional leaders operational and strategic agendas. Transparently works with functional leaders to ensure Orchid employees are fully contributing to achieving company vision, purpose, strategy and goals.
    • Drives an improvement culture by focusing on the process not the people while demanding not only quick resolution but also root cause alignment and systematic corrective action implementation.
    • Drives a performance culture by ensuring the right talent is in the right place at the right time to meet strategic and operational goals.
    • Leads and ensures Performance Management Process exists down to the individual contributor level, including direct, indirect, and professional staff. Establishing and aligning goals and providing periodic feedback on results and Orchid values are imperative.
    • Ensures management systems are in place, permitting quick resolution of deviations in staffing, turnover, talent, or commitment.


    EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor (Required)
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Preferred)


    EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ Years of Increasing Responsibility Leading Hourly and Salaried Professional Organizations (Required)
    • Demonstrated Results in Developing Talent, Organizational Strategies, and Management Systems in a High Revenue Growth Environment (Required)
    • 7+ years of successful experience leading a cross-functional organization and/or developing 2-discipline functional excellence. (Required)
    • 5+ years growing a business, profit center, cost center, or program management experience. (Required)
    • Exposure to integrated business planning (Sales & Operations Planning process), quality system deployment, and lean manufacturing in an industrial setting (Preferred)
    • Experience with and exposure to best practices in global manufacturing (Preferred)
