    Accounts Payable Manager

    POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

    The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing the Accounts Payable's staff in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position directs and oversees the daily management of the Accounts Payable processes including the payment of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of the entire process as it relates to vendor payment, processing of purchase orders, receiving, invoices and payment of invoices, and communication with vendors. This position ensures that company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to accounts payable.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Successfully manages all vendor responsibilities
    • Ensures all negotiated contracts are paid as agreed upon
    • Assist in management of larger vendors ensuring that payments are made on time
    • Assist in automating various AP processes to help make payment process more efficient
    • Learn critical processes from other AP teams to provide support when needed
    • Develop strategic process improvements and oversee cross functional project teams to execute these initiatives
    • Establish communication across all areas of the company reporting trends, performance against metrics, areas of operational and financial improvement, and relevant legal and statutory changes
    • Manages and completes all projects as assigned
    • Maintains accurate records
    • Reviews all payments before released
    • Reviews set up of all new vendors
    • Prepares department metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis
    • Manages projects as assigned
    • Encourages team to provide excellent vendor support
    • Ensures that company policies and procedures are followed
    • Any other duties as required or assigned by management

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

    • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) required
    • Experience in managing within an office function
    • Experience in managing projects
    • Excellent vendor and customer service skills
    • 3+ years experience in Accounts Payable required
    • Prior managerial experience required
    • Proficiency in Excel
    • Solid experience in Data Analysis
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal
    • Problem solving ability
    • Ability to conduct business and manage in an ethical manner

    This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
