    Job Summary and Qualifications

    As a Respiratory Therapist, you get the opportunity to help those having issues breathing, whether it be from a blocked passageway, intense asthma attack or another life-threatening experience. Respiratory therapy focuses on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, management and rehabilitation of patients breathing and/or other cardiopulmonary issues. What you should expect to do in this role:

    • You will perform assessment and therapeutic modalities for infant, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients as ordered or directed by a physician.
    • You monitor environmental control systems, patients on mechanical ventilation, Bipap, CPAP, and various oxygen support systems.
    • You will be responsible for maintaining secure and patent patient airway to include performing nasal, nasotracheal, endotracheal and oral suctioning, pulmonary function testing, blood gas analysis, nebulized medication therapy, chest physiotherapy, and oxygen therapy delivery in various modalities.
    • Provides Bag/value/mask ventilation, and other accepted treatments to maintain a patent airway.
    • Understands pharmacological indications, dosages and response to adverse drug reactions.
    • Recognizes life threatening situations and initiates appropriate response.

    What qualifications you will need for this role:

    • Graduate of AMA accredited Respiratory Therapist Program
    • NBRC accredited RRT credential with Current Colorado Respiratory License
    • American Heart Associated or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, PALS required
    • NRP required if responsibilities include coverage in the neonatal intensive care unit and/or the employee is working as a charge therapist.
    • 6 months previous experience and/or two years recent acute care experience preferred
    • Must possess and maintain skills to be eligible for staffing in the Intensive Care Units, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the ER, floor therapy and provide special procedures.
