    As Stemilts System Administrator you will work closely with our Sr System Administrator and help desk technicians to install/configure, operate, and maintain our system hardware, software, and related infrastructure. The System Administrator conducts technical research and development to facilitate continuous innovation. This position supports four thousand Stemilters and its required to deliver extraordinary customer service at all levels, as well as ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software, and more adhere to company values. Excellent interpersonal communication skills a must.

    Objectives of this role

    • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
    • Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative.
    • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems.
    • Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
    • Manage, train, and assist the help desk.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
    • Monitor data-center health using existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed.
    • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
    • Manage, train, and assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
    • Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.
    • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.
    • Partner with IT leaders to develop long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware needs.
    • Conduct research on desktop products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend products for purchase.
    • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software to deliver optimum desktop service levels.
    • Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to PC boxes, including the installation of CPUs, I/O and NIC cards, hard disks, hard drives, RAM, memory chips, and
    • Prepare tests and applications for monitoring desktop performance, and then provide performance statistics and reports to department leaders.
    • Work closely with helpdesk technicians to solve End User
    • Create User accounts in Windows Active Directory
    • Managing and maintaining file servers.
    • Create and maintain images for Desktops and Laptops
    • Create and maintain technical documentation (SOPs) to further standardize company
    • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring desktop operations.

    Skills and qualifications

    • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science or (3) years of experience managing Desktop or Windows Servers, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proven success in an IT role
    • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, Active Directory, virtualization.
    • Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing
    • Professional certification
    • Valid Drivers License
    • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
